How to Utilize the Military Civilian Health Ecosystem

All Americans expect medical care for their families when needed. During health surge events—like natural disasters, public health emergencies, or large-scale combat operations utilizing civilian healthcare—resources (hospitals, staff, supplies) will be strained. The Military-Civilian Health Ecosystem focuses on ensuring readiness for these events. This Ecosystem is a network of academic, government, non-profit, and industry partners ready to support national operational health readiness and response.

These organizations conduct research, studies, training, and education during steady-state and rapid response phases to serve interagency needs. Studies and activities originate from federal stakeholder requests or collaborative discussions between NIDHC and Ecosystem partners. Organizations work with NIDHC, via a cooperative agreement with the Henry M. Jackson Foundation, to execute interagency activities.
